Cravath Lakefront

Parks & Recreation

Cravath Lakefront Park is located near downtown. Many celebrations, concerts, events are hosted at the park including the Fourth of July celebration, Freeze Fest, Concerts in the Park, Family Fun nights, and Pig in the Park. There are walking paths, picnic areas, and restrooms.

Ice Age Trail

The Ice Age Trail stretches 1,200 miles throughout the State of Wisconsin. Whitewater is proud to be an Ice Age Trail Communities. Visit the Whitewater Chamber of Commerce for trail maps and more information on guided hikes.

Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit

Parks & Recreation

The Kettle Moraine State Forest - Southern Unit spans from Whitewater Lake to Ottawa Lake. There are more than 20,00 acres to explore and a variety of recreational activities include: biking, hiking, camping, cross counting skiing, hunting, and fishing.

Moraine View Park

Parks & Recreation

Moraine view park is a 45 acre park adjacent to the Whitewater University Technology Park. There are soccer fields, shared use path, the Whitewater Bark Park, and the Community Garden. The Whitewater Soccer Club plays its games there in spring and fall.

Natureland Park

Parks & Recreation

The Natureland Park covers 122 acres of the beautiful Kettle Moraine terrain. There are 4 hiking trails, a picnic area, and bathrooms.

Starin Park

Parks & Recreation

Starin back dates back to 1888 and provided housing for veterans during World War II. Today many celebrations and recreation events are held there. There is a community building, playground, restrooms, picnic area, and recreational activities.

Trippe Lake Park

Parks & Recreation

Trippe Lake Park was dedicated as a City Park in 1958 and the lake formed as a result of a dam. There is a playground, shelter areas, a picnic area, and recreational activities. It is a popular sledding destination in winter.

Whitewater Bark Park

Parks & Recreation

The Whitewater Bark Park provides an enclosed open area where dogs can play. The park is divided into two areas - one for small dogs and one for large dogs.

Whitewater Creek Nature Area

Parks & Recreation

The 60-acre nature area is nestled between Fremont Street and the Whitewater Creek. There are hiking and cross-country ski trails, fishing, wildflowers, and a picnic area.

Whitewater Effigy Mounds Preserve

Parks & Recreation

On Whitewater's far southwest side, there is a collection of 12 to 15 effigy mounds. The mounds date back to 800 A.D. and 1200 A.D. Studies suggest these mounds were a gathering place for Midwestern tribes. Today its a 21.5 acre park.

Whitewater Lake Recreation Area

Parks & Recreation

The Whitewater Lake Recreation encompasses several area lakes including Ottawa Lake, Whitewater Lake, and Rice Lake. For more information on the state parks and campgrounds, visit their website.
